Videomapping project displayed in Bucharest festival of light

For this year’s edition of Spotlight – Bucharest International Light Festival in April, six artists will completely transform the emblematic CEC Palace façade using projections selected finalists of the Spotlight Video Mapping Contest 2018. Launched on January 10th, Spotlight Video Mapping contest closed on February 9th. 29 artists from all over the world submitted video mapping proposals focusing on the 2018 festival theme: “United We Shine”.

The jury selected projects that have managed to convey the notion of solidarity, and furthermore explore the connection arisen between people and cities, between different cultures and ethnicity, facades and art, darkness and light.

The six finalist projects that will be projected on CEC Palace during festival days (April 12th to 15th) are:

• Darklight Studio (Spain)

• Hermes Mangialardo (Italy)

• KEDR Visuals (Russia)

• Mindscape Studio (Romania)

• Multiscalar (Germany)

• Skgmedia (China)

First place will be chosen by the public from the six finalist projects via online vote during April 12th to 15th.

The Spotlight Video Mapping Contest jury consisted of Birgit Zander, Artistic Director of Spotlight – Bucharest International Light Festival 2018, Daniel Badke, Co-Art Director of Festival of Lights, Berlin, Ioana Ciocan, General Director of Bucharest Art Pavilion – Art Safari, Mihaela Păun, ARCUB Director, Petre Năstase, director, and Radu Preda, City Hall counsellor. About Spotlight – Bucharest International Light Festival Initiated in 2015, Spotlight – Bucharest International Light Festival is one of Bucharest few events to gather more than 150,000 participants in three festival days each year.
