ENG: “OCULUCIS” is a light art installation that takes shape through two monumental luminous eyes, suspended in space as enigmatic and silent presences. These eyes are not mere symbols of vision, but thresholds of meaning: they gaze at the viewer and, at the same time, invite them to question what it truly means to “see.”

The light that animates them becomes a metaphor for perception itself: it compels us to ask whether seeing is a superficial act, bound to appearances, or whether it can transform into a deeper form of knowing—one that transcends what is immediately visible. The luminous gaze of OCULUCIS is both mirror and inquiry: it observes and reflects, illuminates and conceals, comforts and unsettles.

The work transforms the surrounding space into a sensorial and meditative environment, where light is not merely an aesthetic material but also a philosophical language. The two eyes stand as guardians of a silent dialogue between inside and outside, between observer and observed, between what appears and what slowly reveals itself in the shadows.

OCULUCIS is not simply contemplated—it asks the viewer to become an active participant, to accept the invitation to a vision that is no longer just a physical act but an inner experience, a passage toward broader and deeper awareness.

ITA: “OCULUCIS” è un’opera di light art che prende forma attraverso due grandi occhi luminosi, sospesi nello spazio come presenze enigmatiche e silenziose. Questi occhi non sono soltanto simboli di visione, ma portali di senso: essi scrutano lo spettatore e, al tempo stesso, lo invitano a interrogarsi su cosa significhi davvero “vedere”.

La luce che li anima diventa metafora della percezione stessa: ci costringe a chiederci se guardare sia un gesto superficiale, limitato all’apparenza, o se invece possa trasformarsi in un atto di conoscenza profonda, capace di andare oltre ciò che è immediatamente visibile. Lo sguardo luminoso di “OCULUCIS” è insieme specchio e domanda: osserva e riflette, illumina e cela, accompagna e destabilizza.

L’opera trasforma lo spazio circostante in un ambiente sensoriale e meditativo, dove la luce non è soltanto materia estetica ma linguaggio filosofico. I due occhi diventano custodi di un dialogo silenzioso tra l’interno e l’esterno, tra chi guarda e chi è guardato, tra ciò che appare e ciò che si rivela nell’ombra.

“OCULUCIS” non si limita a essere contemplata: chiede allo spettatore di diventare parte attiva, di accettare l’invito a una visione che non è semplice atto fisico, ma esperienza interiore, un passaggio verso una consapevolezza più ampia e profonda.
